BIOGRAPHY
Originally from Bedford, New York, Melissa Claire Egan grew up with an extensive background in musical theatre, singing and dancing, taking a multitude of classes in New York City as a child. While still a child, she began booking national television commercials and was signed by the Ford Modeling Agency.
Melissa graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Dramatic Arts. During college she appeared in many plays, including Marvin’s Room, How I Learned to Drive, The Birthday Party and Pippin. She also studied Shakespeare at the British American Drama Academy at Oxford, England.
Upon graduating college, Melissa moved to Los Angeles. She appeared in guest starring roles on the television shows “One Tree Hill” and “Dawson’s Creek.” She also starred in the independent film “Wrestling.”
In June of 2006 Melissa booked the role of Annie McDermott on ABC’s “All My Children” and moved back to New York. Ironically, Melissa actually made her debut on the show at the age of 12, when she was an extra on the show!
Melissa’s hobbies include seeing plays and musicals, dancing, choreography, writing, playing tennis, swimming, going to sporting events (GO HEELS!), road trips, happy hour with friends, and hanging out with her family!
